The Craft Council Shop opened in 1991 to provide a new marketing opportunity for members of the Council and to show both residents and visitors to the province the full array of high quality craft work created in Newfoundland and Labrador. Now featuring the work of more than
250 craft makers, the Shop carries both traditional and contemporary work.
Works in fibre, clay, wood, glass, metal, paper, stone and bone can all be found at the Craft Council
Shop. Many makers draw on our spectacular natural environment for their inspiration, creating silk banners, clay and metal jewellery, quilted landscapes and hooked mats. Others use local materials, such as whalebone and antler for carving, local woods for decorative and functional turning, or handspun yarns for knitwear.
The Shop is in the Devon House Craft Centre, ideally located at 59 Duckworth Street in downtown St. John’s. Devon House is across from
Fairmont Newfoundland and is easily accessible from most local tourist and convention facilities. The Shop is open seven days a week, with extended evening hours during the summer and Christmas seasons. Visitor parking is conveniently located at the rear of the building.
The Shop also offers a special Corporate Services for employee, delegate and conference gifts. You can view just some of the items we have to offer here.
For information about work carried, contact the Shop by email at
