Support for new and emerging craftspeople is important to the future of the craft industry and the Craft Council's Awards Program reflects this priority. Scholarships and Study Grants are available, as are funds to support product development and public awareness projects. The Studio Start-Up Fund enables new and emerging craftspeople to establish professional production facilities. Community Education Partnerships aim to strengthen public awareness of the value of craft to the community and the individual.

Recently, the Craft Council created "Awards for Excellence in Craft" to recognize and reward exceptional achievement. These awards are given semi-annually, during our Annual Members' Exhibits and the St. John's Fine Craft & Design Fair
